If you get corn oil by squeezing corn, how do you get baby oil?

Corn Fritters
3 ears of corn, husk and silk removed
1/3 cup milk
1 large egg
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
salt and pepper
1/4 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
sour cream (if you want)
Preheat the oven to 200F. To remove the kernels, cut off the tip of each cob; stand the cob in a wide shallow bowl. With a sharp knife slice downward to remove kernels.
To the bowl, add milk, egg, sugar, baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, mix. Fold in the cornmeal and flour.
Line a rimmed sheet with paper towels. In a large nonstick skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of the oil over medium heat. Working in two batches, drop the batter onto the pan by heaping tablespoonfuls. Fry until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with salt; place in the oven for up to 30 minutes. Serve with sour cream if desired.
This is a great summer recipe, and is pretty easy.

I am going to start off by say nothing is under control

Here are a few choice pictures from my for mentioned conference.
This is the amazing view from the house, at which I was a guest.
And yes people, this is the Mississippi.
As a way to bless people, we made uplifting signs and held them on the side of the road.
The next day we continued to bless people by prayer walking, and then toured the local police station.
Later that night there was a hopping music team that did worship.
I didn't get a chance to take a full group picture, but here is me with a few of the girls.

I am leaving tomorrow for the Sonshine Music Festival. So you can count on some great pictures.

Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Here are a few belated fourth of July firework pictures.
The family went to Iowa to visit my Dad's side, and the fireworks they have there are great.

I will be going to a conference up north later today and will be back on the 10th.

After that I'll be home for a bit and then I'm off to Sunshine the music festival. However, I do intend to post in between these two little adventures.

So I'll see everyone soon.

Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are

I intended to post earlier, but this week has kind of womped.
But don't worry I am not going to complain in this post.
Instead I am going to share with you one of my favorite cookie recipes.
On-top-of-the-stove cookies:
Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
2 Tablespoons coca
2 Tablespoons butter
1/2 cup milk
2 cups quick oats
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup peanut butter
Instructions:
Boil together for 1 min. the sugar, coca, butter, and milk.
Remove from heat and add the peanut butter, vanilla, and oats.
Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto wax paper and let cool.
Store in air-tight container.
This recipe is super easy, and I encourage all to try.
