Whose that girl?

That's right this is an outfit post, I did it.
I have been working my but on school this past week and that would usually mean I neglect my clothing choices. But not this time. I have been putting effort into my clothing AND school, AT THE SAME TIME. Now I have come to terms with the fact that at one point I will be sitting in class in a sweatshirt and p.j. pants, but not yet. It's not like I have anything against going to class in something that casual, but seeing as I have nothing else to stir my creative juices I need to put effort into what I wear.
I want to send a quick shout out to my big sis the ginger who has left for England for a year to get her masters. Have fun at Hogwarts!

The funny thing about being stared at, is that you’re not really being seen.

Unlike in Thailand, I have plenty of clothing at my disposal. However my problem here is that most other people are wearing sweatshirts and sweatpants. I don't want to be stuck in a clothing rut. Those are the worst, I just feel like I have creativity and everything seems boring. So, in an effort to NOT get stuck with the jeans and t-shirts slump, I am picking some of my more unique pieces. My colorful gypsy pants or my red plaid vest. At this point I'm using anything to get my juices flowing.

For the love of vintage

Let me start off by saying I know it has been a while. College has been all-consuming, I've been trying to get into a groove and I think I've found it. Well, I hope I have. I can't grantee I'll be posting regularly, but I do intend to keep up my blog. It may be a bit different though. I want to keep things interesting for you guys, and homework is not interesting. So I am thinking my posts may be less about my life and more about my interests. I hope that's OK with you.

I am a huge fan of vintage. I love old pieces that come to me with a past. I favorite things to browse the Internet for are:
Printed flower dresses. I don't believe there is any cuter clothing item to have in your closet than a printed flower dress.
Bowling shoes are majorly old-school. You don't even need to buy them vintage to look retro.
I am still on the hunt for a good flapper hat.
An oval mirror is incredibly Snow White. And who doesn't love themselves some vintage Disney?
In addition to wanting to flowers on my dress, I want them on my dishes. When I start investing in my dishes, I'm going seventies and floral.
I was going put I picture of my vintage bike, but I don't have one.
Herbie the Love Bug is my dream car.
I like old movies where the women are quick and the men are charming.
Listening to Billie Holiday is like a history in itself. It's hard to find another voice with as much heart or history.

Moving on

This was kind of my last summer adventure with the siblings. Guy, Bean, and I went to the sculpture garden and had loads of fun.

Well, this is it. Tomorrow I head out on my new adventure, I'm calling it COLLEGE. I'm pretty excited and feel very ready. But I am already missing the family a bit. I know homesickness and I know how to deal with it, and I know I'll be fine. I've just really enjoyed my time with me family this summer. I was out of my element for so long, it was nice to be at home with people I can be myself around. I don't know what college holds or how I'll act while I'm there (probably quieter), but I am excited to find out.
Enjoy your summer and...

Lace

I love vests, in case you didn't know I do. You can wear them wherever with whatever. My current motto is: when in doubt, a vest
I'll be moving into my dorm room a week from now, let the count down again.

Don't look at me, look at my clothes.

This is one of my favorite clothing pieces. I go to it whenever I feel like I need to add a little something to my day. You know what I mean? For example, I've been wearing jeans and a t-shirt for three days straight or I'm going into ANOTHER day of work. It just adds something. It is super special I got it when I really started building my closet, and now its something that makes me feel comfortable. I guess I'm saying its familiar, and familiar is nice.

My bad

I'm sorry it's taken me this long to post the final photos from the family's trip up north.
Right after getting home I left for the weekend with a friend. and things have been busy the last days as well. But enough with excuses.
The trip up north was wonderful, and I LOVE spending time with my family. Everyone is so much fun and so funny. It's all just loads of awesomeness.

I'm currently getting ready for my move to school which happens on the 25th. I am crazy nervous that I wont get everything done in time. I need to do a crap load of shopping, finish reading for one of the classes, pack up ALL my stuff, and then the miscellaneous things that need to be signed and people I need to see. It's a lot, and I'll let you know how it goes.
Oh, and remember that summer list I told you about? Well, I've pretty well. The main goal was to not waste my summer, and I haven't. I've sewn, done a blog challenge, cooked, and watched almost all the movies on my movie list. The summer is not over, but it does feel like a success.
