If you’re not careful, I’m going to take incredibly compromising pictures of you and post them on facebook

On one of the days I brought I camera down stairs, I had it switched to black & white. I taught one of the kids how to take pictures and let him loose (as long as he was in my eyesight).

Since God is watching me, the least I can do is be entertaining

I know I've been m.i.a. lately, so here are a few pictures of what I have been up to.

I've been teaching English for a few weeks, and that taken up most of my time. It was loads of fun, and a great learning experience. Other than that, I hung with Ronald, had my birthday, chilled with the kids, saw some sights, and washed some cars.

I am sometimes asked to watch the kids at the house where I live. They usually keep themselves occupied with TV (it’s on almost the whole day) or toys. But I’ve taken to bringing down my camera every once in a while. The first time I did we took pictures of everything. Anytime I would try to put it away they would say (in Thai) “one more, one more,” which does not actually mean “one more.” By the time I got them on my laptop to show the kids, my screen was full with pictures of smiles, funny faces, and funny poses.
Here are just a few of what I have from the first time I brought my camera out.

mealtime prayer: dear Jesus, please let this food be nourishing to my body, and let me not look like an idiot while eating it

I could go on and on about the food here. It is constantly amazing. Sure there are foods that are too spicy, or ones that my stomach doesn’t handle so well. But those are easily avoidable. I can sometimes smell dinner from my balcony or here it sizzle from the stairs. I try to watch and learn, but they throw things in to fast. And I can’t usually tell what spices they are using to make the food taste so good because they are all kept in recycled containers. I have yet to really make anything in the kitchen outside of sandwiches and pasta. Mostly I eat what everyone else does.
