I guess I should explain the name of my blog
Last year a kid at my job (after school care) started to call me “lady goldfish” after I served goldfish three days in a row for snack.
I still work at, and enjoy that school. Every year I am surprised with the new kids and the witty, humorous, and deep things they have to say.
But my job is not my only enjoyment. I love music, thrift stores, sewing, reading, biking, cooking, Frisbee when people will play with me, and kids.
Kids are a very large part of my life. I have loved kids for as long as I can remember. In fact, I plan to be an elementary teacher one day.
Everything about kids interests me. They way they play and learn. I have even found myself reading child development books in middle school. My job may not be my only enjoyment, but it does take up a lot of my time. Even though it is just an after school job and I don’t work more than four days a week. After I come home there is a “wind down time,” where I go threw what happened that day. It is easier to find humor in what the kids say when I am not running around.
I have recently found that I am wearing clothes that are surprisingly similar to a few of the kindergarteners. This has happened on more than one occasion, and I’m sure how I feel about that. On the one hand, I am glad to have someone to share style tips with. But on the other hand, it may mean it looks like my mother dressed me. This is not the case.
At times my mother laughs at me when I leave the house. She’ll say things like “oh, you are too cute” or “huh.” Which is a lot better than what I get from some of my other family members.
Well, I hope I did ok for my first blog.
I hope you all enjoyed my mindless chatter and come back for more.
