Here we go

And so it begins. This day was a little more than stressful. The whole three way outfit picking is not as smooth as I would have thought, but I am hanging in there.

Bean had a concert to go to with a friend. So Guy and I chose the Band's t-shirt and just ran with the color. The vest and skirt are buys from Ragstock.

I realized this challenge was not fully fair when I started looking at Guy's clothes. I was like "OK what shirt goes with which jeans?" But I think I did ok with the hat from Target. Lord knows where the other clothes came from.

I was second guessing the whole challenge thing when I was waiting downstairs as my sibs were in my room choosing my clothes. I don't know if you can tell, but the hat is plaid and the pin on my waist says "Junior zookeeper." Thankfully the sibs cut out the Lord of the Rings pin.

So far I have learned I micromanage outfits.

Chances make you better

In my Sunday best.

The last few days have been good but long and full. It started Friday morning and it feels like it has just kept going, I am soooo ready for Monday. I have a decent sized to do list, but I wont be leaving town and I can do it at a slower pace.

Also, tomorrow I will be starting a blog challenge with Guy and Bean. The idea came from yahoo of all places. Thank you BeautyRiot Diva's. But this challenge is going three ways, Guy and I dress Bean, bean and I dress Guy, and Guy and Bean dress me.

I am turning my closet to my two younger siblings. I'm a little nervous, but here goes nothing.

I’m the one that’s super fine, I have the t-shirt that say so.

I hosted a spa day for the girls in the middle school bible study I run. They came over, we did our nails and hair dressed up and went to dinner.

This is what I wore.

The bean is becoming quite the little lady.

Maybe even a possible future style blogger?

Linking it up

I've been doing some searching on the world wide interweb lately, and I was going to post a link here and there throughout the week but instead I was thought "why not make thing out of it?" You know? Like make it a kind of regular post about what I've happened upon, or what has stood out to me. It makes sense to do this at the end of the week, but for my first time I'll do now before I forget.

First we have my government shut down. Democracy at its finest people. I love politics and I love that my country gives me the opportunity to choose who to put in power, but when the people we put in power can't work together it makes you rethink the system.

On a possibly more scandalous note, there is the mother-in-law from hell. This story makes me think twice about whatever family I might marry into.

I have found another style blog, not that I need another one to follow. But Jentine from my edit has a great everyday style that I really enjoy.

My brothers introduced me to Storage Wars, and I am a fan. It's like thrifting mixed with gabling, but extreme.

Finally, I have been listening and singing to this nonstop for the past week and a half.

p.s. if you guys have any links you'd like to send me, feel free.

Star spangled spectacular

I'm home, tired, but home. Four days from home feels like a lot, and the swimming with the sun with the family can leave a body longing for a familiar bed.

The night before we all got home, our youngest cat got out. He was out all night and just got back an hour ago, he has got a few war wounds and is covered with sap. You can't wash it off and he has given up licking it off, so now one of the older sisters is stuck slowly brushing it off. Thankfully the younger cat likes being brushed more than the older one, and the younger one seems OK with it all.

Anyway, here is my 4th of July outfit, red, white, blue and all.

If you can't trust a guy named Buddha, who can you trust.

Here are the picture from my 4th of July weekend.
While in Iowa I went to an Asian market and got some of my favorite food from Thailand. My mother's and father's side were there this year, so we got some time with the cousin. Finally we went to the park, went to the lake, watched the fireworks (on the 3rd instead of the 4th cause they wanted to do it on the weekend), and then went to a parade on the 4th.

Does everything need a tittle?

I and most of the fam are down in Iowa for the 4th of July. I came came down with the first batch of members.
I've taken of good pictures, but it's getting late.
So here is a quick style post.
We all stopped by a the Goodwill in town, and the brother bought a pair of suspenders.
Pretty snazzy if you ask me
